'Sage Hens' Club Is Three Years Old

by Mrs. Claude Coleman

In observance of Home Demonstation Week in May, 1948, the Sunshine Extension Club gave a tea to help organize the Sage Hens' Extension Club. Mrs. Lorene Coleman was elected as the first chairman, Mrs. Ione Mudge as vice chairman, Mrs. Shirley Kirby as secretary and Mrs. Ella Reese as treasurer. There were 18 members enrolled in the club at that time. At present we have 12 members.

The objective of the club is to learn better methods of homemaking, improvement of health through better nutrition and child care.

The club has sponsored two 4-H Clubs for girls and taken part in various charity and community drives.
