Defense Auxiliary No. 3530 met on Tuesday, April 23rd, with very good attendance. Routine business was taken care of. Mrs. Lydia Haas was ballotted upon and elected to membership. The Unit voted to donate money to buy a basket of groceries for a needy veterans' families. Bessie Swenson as Patriotic Instructors and Frances Lundeen as Treasurer were installed in their respective offices. The box of articles was sent to the Fort Meade Hospital.
The picture of the Auxiliary Exhibit on Army Day was on display and several expressed a desire to purchase one. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 14th, with Sisters Bordeaux and Fallis as hostesses. A light lunch was served after the meeting. Sister Scott won the attendance prize.
Will the man who left some fruit jars and other articles in the home of the late Frank B. Saubers in Edgemont please go there and remove his property, as Mrs. Saubers is preparing to close the house and leave town.
In the dark days from December 7, 1942, to September 2, 1945, all America was proud of our boys. Every American prayed for them. People said, "We will never forget. Don't let's forget again, as we did in 1918. Let's remember, this time and prove to them and the world that America's gratitude, like its ideals of Freedom, can be the model of civilized nations.
