Herman F. Blumer is a veteran of World War I. He worked at Black Hills Ordnance Depot from 1942 until 1956 as a Boiler Fireman.

Clara M. Blumer was a RN and worked at the Depot Hospital. She graduated from Jennie Edmonson School of Nursing, Council Bluffs, IA in 1922.

Their Children are Mary and Herman Dean who both attended the Provo School at the Depot.
