A member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, was born on the Keya Paha River in Tripp County, South Dakota. Orphaned at the age of six, he was raised by his oldest sister, Velma. Robert attended elementary schools at Millboro, Mission, Provo and Igloo, South Dakota. He graduated from Todd County High School at Mission. He attended college at Dakota Wesleyan University, South Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota. He holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, a Master's of Public Health and is a registered Professional Engineer. Raymond served 24 years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service, working on many Indian Reservations throughout the United States. Following his retirement, he worked as a consulting engineer. Other then a couple of scientific papers related to his engineering and public health work, this is Raymond's first venture into the literary field. He is retired and, with his wife ElRita, lives in Billings, Montana. |
