Dec. 1954 CWC candidate; Dennis W. Combs; Candidate Combs is currently serving as Chairman of the Foremen's Safety Committee. He came to BHOD in January 1949 after previous employment with the Bureau of Reclamation in the surveying field. Here he is a set-up crew. lead foreman
Combs was commended by the Commanding Officer at the time of the explosion of the igloo magazine for his assistance during the rescue operations. Later, he received a superior step increase for voluntary risk of personal safety when he drove a stalled Government vehicle out of the path of an oncoming railroad car.
He is currently a member of the Board of Elders of one of the local churches and served previously as a scout master in Chadron.
