June 18, 1954 CWC candidate; Carl W. Ottmann; Carl Ottmann, Assistant Procurement Officer, has seen eight years of Federal service in procurement activities here and at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Hot Springs.
A graduate of Hot Springs High school he completed one year of work at the South Dakota State College prior to entering the military service. During his military career he performed clerical and supply work in various Headquarters Companies.
While employed at the Veterans Administration from 1946 to 1953, he served as Vice President of the VA Employee's Association, a welfare and recreation organization.
Active in Hot Springs American Legion work he has served in various elective posts including adjutant, vice commander and commander. During the construction of the West River Crippled Children's Hospital, Ottmann served as a captain of a team in Hot Springs soliciting pledges for hospital construction. Formerly a member of the Hot Springs Lions Club he is now doing service work with the local Kiwanis organization.
