Local Employees Play With Girls' Team At Edgemont

Four girl employees from the depot are playing softball this year. Since Igloo does not have a gals' softball team, these girls are playing on Edgemont's team. They are: Louise Dunsmore, Betty Wolcott, Juanita Wagner, and Margo McElhaney. Louise Dunsmore plays catcher, Betty Wolcott, center field, Juanita Wagner, third base, and Margo McElhaney, pitcher. Their first game was played with Spearfish, Sunday June 21st. The results were, and we quote, "We got P-Ued". The girls team has several games scheduled for the near future. Sunday, June 28 at 1:30 p.m. they will play a return game with Spearfish; July 4, at 8:00 p.m. there will be a game with Clinton, Nebraska. Other teams they have scheduled for later in the season are; Upton, Pind Ridge, Lead, and Crawford. New possitilities for competition are; Hot Springs, Custer, Scottsbluff and Newscastle.

This team is sponsored by the Edgemont Business and Professional Women's Club. The girls have new uniforms this year and they hope they will bring a little better luck in the future games. By the way the score was 29-9 in the Spearfish fiaso! Some score!
